Louisville, CO - September 22, 2025 onWater Fish, the mobile app built for anglers who care about the waters they fish, has teamed up with American Rivers to launch an industry first conservation feature: the American Rivers’ list of America’s Most Endangered Rivers® Map Layer.
For the first time, anglers can explore the rivers highlighted in the 2025 America’s Most Endangered Rivers® list, directly inside of the onWater Fish app. With a single tap, users can discover urgent conservation threats, access educational resources, and take action to protect the rivers they love.
“Healthy fish need healthy rivers,” said Katy Neusteter, Senior Director of Marketing at American Rivers. “By putting America’s Most Endangered Rivers® into the onWater Fish app, we’re connecting anglers with the information they need to take action, exactly where and when they need it.”
The interactive layer is free for all users and can be found under the “Conservation Information” map layers section, accompanied by several other onWater Fish partnership layers that have been built to highlight the work of Trout Unlimited and California Trout. Each highlighted river includes details about current threats, legislative issues, and opportunities for anglers to raise their voices. Users who take action through these river cards will receive three free months of onWater+, unlocking premium features like 3D maps, offline access, land boundary layers, and species data for 100+ fish, helping them to build an even deeper connection to the rivers they’re working to protect.
“Anglers know healthy rivers mean healthy fisheries,” said Lindsay Kocka, Community Partnerships Lead at onWater. “This feature makes it easier than ever to stand up for your home waters and watersheds across the country. We’re very excited to be working alongside such a pivotal organization to help educate anglers nationwide while modernizing recreation and conservation data.”
The launch is backed by a national awareness campaign running through December 2025, including educational content, social media spotlights, and community advocacy drives featuring America’s Most Endangered Rivers® of 2025.
Download onWater Fish for iOS or Android, create a free account, and explore the ‘America’s Most Endangered Rivers®’ Map Layer today. Take action on any river in the layer and receive a complimentary three-month subscription to onWater+ as a thank you for standing up for America’s rivers.
